In my solo recital „Far from the Crowd“ I, from my point of view, turn to the most eminent and important compositions pathbreaking for accordion literature. The accordion is – unlike many other classical instruments – without history in new music and therefore not burdened with traditions So it opens a relatively impartial access for the composer. Perspectives could be chosen freely. Many composers took the impulse and for some it was a revelation: So K. Tsepkolenko works with free models and draws a picture of a labyrinth where a man look for the exit. Adriana Hölszky discovers the accordion as a wind instrument. With changing tone colours and floating long tones she wants to break the tempering of the keys and push forward into micro-tonal regions. She is interested in this nervous, vibrating, flattering sounds, not in the piano-like playing. So for example Sofia Gubaidulina uses bajan in sacral music and is especially fascinated by the „breath“ of the bajan. The piece „Von der Dämmerung zum Licht“ (From Dawn to Light) by Denissow is about the silent watching of a grey-haired man. The complicated rythm does not create hectic rush, but – in contrast – leads the constant flow of thoughts. Luciano Berio was fascinated by the history and the social „smells“ of the accordion. Although Berio did not try to tribute the history of the accordion in his chanson „Sequenza13“, he wanted to show the popular expieriences which live in it and are to be read off the working. Toshio Hosokawa works with the sound creation, with the harmonic and polyphonic possibilities ot the accordion. The leading role for Krzyszof Olczak plays a pulsing rythm like a symbol for the heartbeat and the „feeling of a pushing time“. Wladimir Runzak finds the technical borders of the instrument.

In the end of the 1980s it was obvious – the wind has changed. Has it blown in the accordionist’s face till then, now the resentments scattered. It was like an explosion. The accordion got the treasure chest and euphoria spread.
Now we can say, that key works developed on the way to a different view of the accordion in which center stands the phenomenon of sound and his infinite possibilities.

The JAZZWA Trans Danube Music Orient Express Band was founded in Linz, Upper Austria, in November 2004 by initiative of Nebojsa Krulanovic. The international consisting band plays music from the Balkans: the Balkan-jazz, the Balkan-blues. It specially focuses on instrumental and dance music from Macedonia, Serbia and Croatia and also the Bosnian Sevdalinka music and traditional gypsy music. The first public performance ot the band took place at March 19th, 2005 in the Landestheater Linz. In the same year the band was nominated for the Austrian World-Music-Förderpreis.

Standing ovation for Jazzwa

“Jazzwa” is the name of a project of Nebojsa Krulanovic, which had ist premier appearance at the Linzer Kammerspiele. The pianist presented his Orient Express Band with Trans Danube Music for the first time. A „Jazzwa’“ is a small copper can in which a bitter-sweet brewage of coffee, sugar and water is made, which should raise even the dead or at least force the living to dance. And this is what Balkan Blues of the Orient Express Band mainly deals with. Standing ovations in the boiling theater let us hope for a rerun.

(Head pieces – 5 scence for HER and HIM)

Head = upper part of something
In their first programm the two musicians attend to a scenic conversion of new music. The (human) head as one of many elements regarding contents leads through all 5 scenes. Another coherence of the „Pieces“ takes place in the relation level of HER (as a stage character) and HIM (as a stage character), which made the dramatic construction possible.

Born 1975, in Podbuskoje, Ukraine. Visit of the music school in Kirovograd,
Study at the Odessa conservatory at of Prof. Wiktor Wlassow
Studies at Prof. Alfred Melichar at the Anton Bruckner private university in Linz
2004 Master of Arts.
2005 IPG Bachelor of Arts.
As a soloist and chamber musician he successfully performs with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Austrian Ensemble für neue Musik, Capella Condurezza and the Duo Ost/West. His artistic work for theaters (Landestheater Linz, Theater Phönix, bühne04 and the theater group Arbos) woke his interes in scenic stage concepts. Many world premieres and ordered works of Renald Deppe, Christoph Herndler, Wolfgang Mayer und Ludmila Samodaewa.
Successful performances in festivals in Bratislava, Gmunden, Linz, Krems,Wels and at the music summer in Bad.
Loves good red wine and the Ukrainian lowlands.
