The name DYAS has been built of the initials of the two artists forming DYAS Drenska Yova and Andrej Serkow. The cooperation started in 2003 in Linz, Upper Austria. In the beginning Yova and Andrej worked on adaptations of „Pictures at an exhibition“ by M. Mussorgskij, „Gothic Suite“ by L. Boellmann and other composers as O. Messiaen, I. Strawinskij and A. Skrjabin.
The meeting with the two exceptional artists Christoph Cech and Renald Deppe lead DYAS to Jazz and own compositions. A few month after the release of their first album „together“ DYAS were awarded the „Ö1-Pasticcio-Preis“ of March 2008.
Yova Drenska was born in Trojan, Bulgaria. After she finished the music school in Lowetsch, she studied music education at the academy for music and dance in Plovdiv (Bulgaria). She continued her education at the Anton Bruckner private university in Linz, Austria, where she completed her Accordion studies as a student of Prof. Alfred Melichar and her music education studies in 2006 with excellent success. As a Bachelor of Arts Yova worked successfully in different cooperations in Austria: Ensemble des 20. Jahrhunderts – Wien, Neue Wien Oper – Wien, Neues Ensemble – Linz, Festival 4020 – Linz.
In recent years she worked with composers Bernhard Lang, Erich Urabner, Balduin Sulzer, Alfred Peschek, Christoph Cech, Alois Wimmer, Nebojsa Krulanovic und Rudolf Jungwirth.
In autumn 2007 she accepted the musical supervision, and musical performance for „Der Verschwender“ by F. Raimund at the Linzer Landestheater.

Andrej Serkow was born in Podbuskoje, Ukraine. After his first Bajan lessons and the visit of the music school in Kirovograd, he completed his studies at the Odessa conservatory with excellent success. Further studies at the Anton Bruckner private university in Linz, Austria he also finished with excellent success as a Master of Arts. In 2005 he finished his music education studies as a Bachelor of Arts.
As a soloist and chamber musician he successfully performs with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Austrian Ensemble für neue Musik, Capella Condurezza and the Duo Ost/West. The cooperation with composers Christoph Cech, Renald Deppe, Christoph Herndler, Wolfgang Mayer und Ludmila Samodaewa created new, interesting pieces for accordion. His artistic work for Landestheater Linz, Theater Phönix and the theater group Arbos lead his way through many countries in Europe and played an important role in his artistic way. With his successful performances in Bratislava, Gmunden, Linz, Krems,Wels and at the music summer in Bad Schallerbach he convinced the audience with his expressive and deep interpretations.
